Most Indonesian palm oil producers are ready to use biodiesel fuel to
increase the use of crude palm oil while the price of the commodity in
the world market has dropped. "After inspecting a number of regions including Riau, I conclude that
many palm oil factories were ready to use biodiesel," the executive
chairman of the Association of Indonesian palm oil producers (GAPKI),
Derom Bangun, said here on Tuesday. |

Indonesian, Thai air forces hold joint military exercise |

The Indonesian and Thai air forces on Monday began a joint exercise code-named "Elang Thainesia XIV" that will last until October 30 in Riau province, Indonesia.
"The joint exercise is a routine activity to mark the good relations between the two countries, the two air forces in particular. This year's joint exercise is the 14th since the first held in Thailand in 1980," Antara news agency quoted Col. Dedy Trisunu, commander of the Indonesian Air Force's Pekanbaru airbase, as saying.

The Riau General Elections
Commission (KPUD) on Monday declared Rusli Zainal, nominated by the
Golkar Party, as the winner of the province's gubernatorial election.
"There will be no runoff election because Rusli won more than 50 percent of votes," KPUD chairman Syofyan Samad told The Jakarta Post after a plenary session on the recapitulation of the votes.
